The Environment Management System Division of Air India
The Environment Management System Division of the Quality Management Systems Department addresses all environment issues with particular regard to preserving and protecting the environment from the impact of climate change. Air India’s Environment Management System Division focus is to mitigate climate change through carbon dioxide emissions reduction and has achieved Carbon dioxide emission reduction of approx, 5 lakh metric tons from the period September 2008 to April 2011.
BILT Graphic Paper Products Limited
BILT – Bhigwan Unit manufactures high quality coated fine paper and board with state of the art machines. The industry has spent the last three years with a mission to improve efficiency in each area and has shown remarkable success. During last year, the organization achieved remarkable reductions in consumption parameters by reducing specific power consumption from 717 to 657 kWh/ton of paper and GHG emission reduced from 0.90 to 0.86 T/Ton of paper over the last year.

Videocon Industries ltd eco vision line of products has contributed to a total reduction of GHG or CO2 equivalent 19.6 million kg. While doing so, Videocon also took significant measures to improve efficiency in production and bring down emission through process improvement and fuel use reduction

Energy Research Applications (ERA)
Energy Research Application (ERA) is a science and technology (S & T) based organization registered under Societies Registration Act 1860. ERA has been instrumental in working closely with the women groups to reduce drudgery and check the release of Green House Gases (GHG) and in reinforcing its commitment of energy conservation in traditional inefficient system and technologies in the cottage industries and households. The design of “Energy Cakes” has been optimized to allow carbon and oxygen to interact for near complete combustion which controls the emission.
Mahindra Vehicles Manufactures Limited
Mahindra Vehicles Manufacture Limited assembles heavy and light commercial vehicles & utility vehicles. The system in paint shop was modified to convert the waste heat into usable heat and use it for the process chemical heating. Air to water heat exchange was used to recover the heat from ovens and a heat pump to recover the heat from the chiller condensers. The solar power was also used to help the paint cooling requirement in the paint shop. A solar powered VAM (chilling machine) to assist the conventional electrically power chillers was used to support the process.

Its focus on adopting a community based strategic approach for natural resource management that is congruent to sustainable socio-economy creating a win-win situation for the society and global environment. SAFE is working in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan especially in the bio-diversity rich climate vulnerable areas at science society interface.
Vivekananda Research and Training Institute (VRTI)
Vivekananda Research and Training institute- is engaged in rural development in Kutch district since 1976. The main objective is to promote sustainable rural development with community participation in the area like rain water harvesting, creating drinking water distribution resources and distribution system, watershed development, prevention of salinity ingress and developing salinity resistant crops.
