J.Srinivasan

established the Divecha Centre for Climate Change at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2009. He obtained B.Tech from IIT,Madas, M.S. from State University of New York and Phd from Stanford University. He was the Chairman of Centre for Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from 1997-2005 and Chairman, Mechanical Sciences Division from 2005-2009 at Indian Institute of Science. He was Senior Resident Research Associate at NASA, Langley from 1993-1995. He was a lead author of the 2nd and 4th  IPCC reports on Climate change and a review editor of 3rd   IPCC report on Climate Change.. He has published more than 150 research papers in climate and thermal sciences. His major scientific contributions are in the areas of monsoon  models, impact of aerosols on climate and impact of clouds on  earth’s radiation budget.
